I’m so behind….

As usual, I’m behind on so many fronts…and my posting here is no exception. I bet you know how that feels.

A few weeks back, a bunch of the girls made our way down to the PNQE. Of course, there were some purchases, mostly patterns. I’m trying to resist on the fabric front, wanting the TFNIQ (total fabric not in quilts) number to decrease. (oy, can you tell it’s budget season at work?)

But I wanted to share some of my favorites at the show…

Love anything with little circles

And here’s more

And don’t you love this use of ricrac?

And this one was so amazing, you wanted to reach out and touch it (but those white glove ladies were patrolling!)

And of course I love all sorts of appliqué

But I was especially amazed by this one, the story card says this one has more than 1000 little tiny pieces.

So there you go, some of the many beauties at this show.

Hope you enjoyed the view!

Let the Mess begin

I’m feeling weighed down by my scraps…..how about you?

So I’m starting the attack with the 2-1/2″ strips.

I’m going to cut out three quilts at once, all from strips. We’ll have to see if, in the end, this makes a dent in the stash.

So from each strip, I’m cutting out pieces for this quilt

And then I cut a 16″ piece to make these blocks

And the rest gets cut into 2-1/2″ squares for either 9-patch blocks or 4-patch blocks, that will be the last to get pieced.

This is a messy process, but it will be worth it (I hope)!!

Little bit of embroidery

I am really liking the little stitching projects that have been traveling with us. I have a feeling there just might be some more of these projects after this weeks trip to the PNQE.

These little blocks are done now and ready to go together.

And now to figure out the setting triangles. I tried the background fabric but that was too blah. So I’m thinking of something a little different.

What do you think….too much?
